Proofing: Striving for Acurasea
I can hear the first conversation now:
Editor: “You’re sure that’s the right word?”
Reporter: “Like, 80 percent sure, yeah.”
Editor: “Print it.”

I can also imagine the “conversation” that began after this was published and distributed:
Editor In Chief: “What bloody idiot…”
This just goes to show you that you must proof every project you touch. Proof it. Then proof it again. And then proof it again.
If you don’t already have one, a good proofing process is cheap and easy to implement. Used effectively it will maintain your professional image to your clients, bolster their confidence in you and your team, and save you the expense of reproducing a project — or worse — losing a client.
We’re human. We all know that mistakes are going to happen. And this is exactly why we proof, proof, proof.
